Tips to enhance adequate exercising 

On days when you are too exhausted or after a night of not having a good rest, don’t push yourself to exercise. Listen to your body.2
Control your heart rate, it should not be more than 80% of your maximum heart rate.
Make it regular. Don’t go into complete rest immediately after exercise or start heavy exercise after a period of complete rest.
Use appropriate shoes and clothes.
Avoid eating just before or after exercise
 Other practical tips to  assist in ensuring adequate weekly  exercise :
Plan a specific time for it every day. You are likely to miss some days inadvertently but the remaining 4 -5 days will achieve the minimum required per week.
Make sure you keep the appointment routinely. Routine is very helpful in forming a habit.
Add an activity that is of interest to you, maybe listening to music or praying.
Get the support of a friend with whom you can work out. A spouse will be a great exercise partner.  
Park your car a bit away from the office to enable you walk to and from the office.
Use your TV time to engage in cycling, or sit ups or push-ups or stretches.
