Life does not permit stagnancy, you must progress

Philip was another member of the food committee selected in Acts Chapter 6 just like Stephen the Martyr. Philip went to Samaria and began to preach there. He started with being filled with the Holy Spirit in the corner of his room, then graduated to becoming a deacon in the church who was merely serving food, then he became an evangelist who turned a whole city around.

“Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. And there was great joy in that city” (Acts 8: 5-8).

Start from wherever you are now and make efforts to grow spiritually and in other aspects of life. As you move closer to God, become more filled with the Holy Spirit, and work faithfully on the little opportunities God has given you, He will give you better and greater opportunities. The things of God are progressive and every aspect of your life is a part of God’s kingdom. You cannot continue to do the same thing over and over again. You must grow, increase, expand, and multiply. God will make you occupy higher positions while other people step into your shoes.
