Importance of Vision setting in Stress Management

If someone doesn’t have a vision for his life and he keeps accomplishing other people’s goals, he may not be fulfilled, and this will lead to stress.

Clarify your values and identify your priorities in life. Ask yourself what you will like to be written on your tombstone when you are dead or what you will do if you have only 6 months to live. Those are the things you should concentrate on.

See a clear vision for your life and make the changes necessary to implement that vision fully. Set goals in line with the vision and set realistic time limits to achieve them.

Follow through on your plans. As you watch yourself achieve those goals, you feel fulfilled in spite of what others around you may be achieving; you don’t have to run their races.

Have a vision for your family and health. Don’t wait until you are told you have few more years to live before you place value on good nutrition, exercise, stress management, happiness, cultivating good relationships with friends and members of your family.

Moreover, when people make demands on your time, and other resources, the vision will guide you to know how much of those resources can be shared joyfully without destroying your own vision
