The Era of Don’t Judge Me
The scripture in 1 Corinthians 5:12-13 boldly asks, “For what do I have to do with judging those outside [the church]? Do you not judge those who are inside [the church]? But those who are outside God judges. Therefore ‘put away from yourselves the evil person.'” In today’s world, the prevalent “Don’t judge” mindset has led to a dangerous tolerance and participation in immoral activities, even among Christians. However, it’s imperative to understand that the Bible instructs us to address wrongdoings within the Christian community. We are not sent to correct specific sins in the lives of unbelievers. Our responsibility towards un-believers is to share the message of Jesus and encourage them to repent and accept Him as their Saviour. When it comes to fellow believers, we must firmly guide and correct them in love based on the unwavering principles of the Bible so that they can lead lives aligned with the teachings of Jesus. We are not supposed to judge them with condemnation; but correct with the intention to rescue them from the enemy and encourage them to be more consecrated to God. If you are born again and sincerely committed to following Jesus, please, accept spiritual guidance and training from mature Christians. Just as children benefit from parental guidance, you must be willing to receive correction and guidance rooted in the unchanging word of God. Rejecting this guidance and arrogantly walking in error can impede your journey to heaven.
