Water Therapy for Weight Control
Water therapy refers to drinking adequate water to prevent or treat health conditions. It can also mean using water to relieve a health condition.
Water is an important component of the body. Up to 60% of the human adult male body is water(The water component of the female body is 55%). Water is the main thing human beings need to survive. We lose water every day through breathing, sweating, digestion and urination; therefore, we need to drink enough water to maintain the normal body water. Drinking adequate amount will aid shedding unnecessary body fat and tackle other health challenges.
Water is a vital nutrient for every cell of the body. It is important in forming saliva. It regulates the internal body temperature by sweating. It acts as a shock absorber for the brain, spinal cord, and fetus. It lubricates the joints, it plays a vital role in metabolism and transportation of carbohydrates, proteins and other nutrients needed by the body. It forms a part of the blood and body fluid. It transports nutrients and chemicals to the places where they are needed in the body. It is required to flush waste out of the body mainly through urination.
If your body functions very well and wastes are eliminated, it will naturally cooperate with you to remove excess fat. You will lose weight without sweating.
The amount of water needed daily depends on the age, gender, physiological state and climate. Most people need about 3 litres. 1 litre is about four standard cups, indicating that an average person needs to drink about 12 standard cups to be well hydrated and keep his/her weight within the normal range. Ladies need less water (2.2 -2.5 litres).
Start in the morning. Drink about 4 cups on an empty stomach and wait for at least 30 minutes before drinking or eating any other thing. Drink at least 2 cups in between meals and sip a little with your meals. Plan to drink water at least 30 minutes before each meal and at least 2 hours after the last meal.
Drinking too much water with the meals increases the volume of the stomach and dilutes the digestive juices. This makes digestion very difficult. The food becomes rancid and cannot deliver the necessary nutrients smoothly. This will cause weight gain. On the other hand, if the digestive system functions smoothly, it will support weight loss.
Drink adequate water at the right time and watch the fat melt away.
