Some stress management tips
Cultivate the right attitude and speak positively in all situations
When you have positive attitudes like Joy, contentment, thanksgiving, appreciation, love, peace, compassion and forgiveness, you will reduce your stress level. The way to cultivate good attitude is right thinking. If you think right, your attitude and behaviour will be positive and in turn promote your interpersonal relationships. When we verbally magnify people’s strengths, you build them up and encourage them. They will in turn respond positively to you and thereby you help them to improve. You will enjoy whatever roles they are supposed to play in your life more and have peace thereby reducing your stress levels. On the other hand, if you look out for people’s faults and complain too often, they will be bitter and this will make their actions and reactions towards you bitter thereby increasing stress levels.
Avoid frustration
Frustration occurs when someone is in a situation that prevents him from experiencing genuine joy and pleasure or his expectations is not met. In our generation we have too much to do, too much responsibility, too much debt, too much in a hurry, too busy and as a result, many people get frustrated easily. In such situations, stress hormones are released into the body and if not curtailed on time, it can lead to damage.
Be Organized
Be organized, you will not have to be searching for things and this will reduce stress. Moreover, you should allocate enough time to travel. This will help you to enjoy the trip rather than start the journey late and race through anxious and worried about getting to your destination late. If you are not affected by not building enough margin; probably nobody can challenge you if go late for a programme, remember that other people you love or that love you might be frustrated by your actions. When you are in a hurry, you are likely to offend someone who crosses your path.
Put God First
Put God first in your life, have devotion in the morning, your mind will be calm to plan your day better. Pray about everything no matter how small rather than getting frustrated. One day I was helping my younger son to do a project and we needed a certain picture. I know we had had such a picture in the house in the past but I wasn’t quite sure if it had been thrown away or not. The two boys were trying to talk me into searching for it but I told them I don’t operate that way. I would rather pray first and get inspiration on what to do. We forgot about the matter until two days later, we were arranging their wardrobes and our domestic help was told to change the calendars used to line the wardrobes, suddenly, she saw the particular picture we needed. No matter how hard we searched the house, we wouldn’t have found those particular calendars bearing the picture
