• Set realistic goals and learn to be satisfied with your achievements while you are working on other ones.
• Recognize that many of the things people work hard to get, eventually control their lives and if they are sincere with themselves, they will realize that they don’t really need those things to survive.
• Create an orderly environment for yourself and others if you can. A disorderly, out of control, chaotic environment or relationship produces stress.
• Exercise manners in your relationships to reduce the frustration and stress factors for others.
• Spend more time with people, especially your spouse and children and you will live a higher quality of life. You may need to turn off some things such as TV, computer and phone to be able to get more time to interact with people.
• In spending time with people, get involved in activities that will encourage conversations, doing tasks together or engaging in recreational activities together.
• What you really need is a deeper and satisfying relationship and that is the first thing that is sacrificed by being too busy. Some people take pride in their business but they will later realize with regrets how much they have missed about life, not enjoying themselves. Some people don’t do anything about their schedule and busy life style until they have an experience that is near death.
• You must seek to increase the margin in your life. Get a breathing space between one task and the other. Don’t continue to jump from one thing to another impatiently or with a sense of urgency.2
